I installed it after a bad night. Never opened it on a regular one.

Compass gives you one specific thing to try with your kid today. Paths gives you ten minutes after they're asleep. Neither one needs a hard night to be worth opening.

What you actually get

What's actually in there on a normal Tuesday

  • One read on your specific kid — age, temperament, what's likely going on this week

  • A short evening program you can finish before you fall asleep

  • A Repair script ready if the night does go sideways

  • Nothing to set up. Nothing to finish first.

The part that matters
01

You installed it after something went wrong. That makes sense — that is exactly what it is for. But you have not opened it since, and the reason is probably not that things are going well.

02

The reason is that it feels like a tool for emergencies. Something you grab when the night is already bad. So on a normal Tuesday you leave it alone.

03

Here is what a normal Tuesday actually looks like inside it. Compass is one page — your kid's age, what tends to matter at that stage, one specific thing worth trying today. You read it in two minutes over coffee or in the car before you walk in the door.

04

Paths is ten minutes. A short guided program you run through after the house is quiet. Not a course. Not a commitment. Ten minutes, then you close the phone.

05

Neither of those requires a hard night. Neither of them asks you to remember something from a previous session or pick up where you left off. You open it, you get something useful, you put it down.

06

The dad who opens Anchor on a calm Wednesday is more prepared for the Friday that goes wrong than the dad who only reaches for it when he is already in the hallway wondering what to say. That is the only argument here. Use the quiet nights.

Straight answers

Questions you are probably asking yourself

I already know my kid pretty well. What is Compass going to tell me that I do not already know?

Probably one thing you have noticed but have not named yet. It is not a profile. It is a prompt — something age-specific and concrete enough to try today. You read it in two minutes. Some days it is obvious. Some days it lands exactly right.

Ten minutes sounds like another thing I have to do after a long day.

It is ten minutes. Paths is not a course and it does not build on itself — you do not fall behind if you skip a night. Open it when the house is quiet and you have not picked up something else yet.

What if I open it and my situation does not fit any of it?

Compass is organized by your kid's age and what tends to be true at that stage. It will not be right every day. When it is off, close it. When it is on, it saves you from running the same mental loop you have been running all week.

I only downloaded it because of a specific bad night. Is this actually for regular use?

Yes. The Repair scripts are there if you need them — that is not going away. But Compass and Paths are designed for the other nights. The ones where nothing exploded but you still want to show up well tomorrow.

Do I have to start over or set anything up?

No. Open the app. Everything is there. You do not need to complete anything first or remember where you left off.

Is there a cost to any of this?

Free. Every feature is included.
